video clips

Inspired by the "Seven" intro, which showed Maddy us in our class, I looked for some really interesting video clips on the youTube-website. Sometimes, the idea is more important than the result. And I really like the ideas behind the following clips:

The song "crazy" of Gnarls Barkley was really famous this summer all over Europe. And the clip of this song is pretty good as well. And I don´t know, why I like it.
Maybe, I like this clip, because of the fresh music and the great idea of the style of the video.
In my opinion, the best produced clip this year.

Coldplay is really famous band from Great Britain and performed some really nice songs in the tradition of legends like Pink Floyd. This song (The Scientist) is the one, which made them pretty famous in Germany.
It is a shame, that part at the beginning is missed, but I did not find a better one.

Actually I don´t know a lot about The White Stripes. I guess, it is an american band, but this clip is maybe the best clip, which was made ever. I really like the animation - even if the song is quite strange. But I could listen a thousand times more to it, if I only could see the clip.

That´s enough so far. Enjoy it...

Mekong-Delta

The Mekong itself isn´t that spectacular for photographs, but combined with some details, a photo can become quite nice.
If you think about the fact, that the Mekong-River isn´t really calm and peaceful, it is quite amazing, that I captured with this photo such a calm and peaceful atmosphere. It seems to be far away from any civilization.

some flash...

Here you can see some flash-examples i created in my freetime.

My old portfolio
I did this two years before and it was one of my first experiences with flash. It is a very old version and I did not update this site for a long time.

An animated description for the way to my house in my hometown "Furtwangen" in Germany. The different red line animations show the ways from the different directions.
At the end, the user can choose, which way he wants to see again, or he can see the whole animation again.

An easy teaser for a rock-concert of the band of a friend.
I hid the most informations (no name, only location and date) to make the possible audience curios for the concert:

get used to it

As I did my research for a condom campaign poster, I found the following photo at allposters.com.

So, I got the idea to work with this black and white picture. I traced the outlines of the two persons and tried to suggest, that one of the person is HIV-infected - The reason of the different color-schemes.
According to the serious topic of the poster, I kept the rest simple. So I tried to keep the eyes of the observer on the two persons in the middle and the terrible statistics at the bottom.

The poster:

I got the outlines of the condom from the following picture of the page linkcondom.com.

Portfolio-Mockup

One assignment in the course Webpage Construction is to design your own portfolio. With the meaning of the portfolio as a help for applications for a job, I tried to create a clear and simple layout. I tried to follow the motto "substance over style".

After the course, I´m going to create a completely flash-site, in which you can switch, if you are bored of the static site. And maybe, I am going to create an English and a German version of the site.

Swiss/International-Club

My German mate Toffi, who was mentioned before and who is also doing a study abroad at RMIT in Ho Chi Minh City, studies in Switzerland. So, he got the idea to establish a Swiss-Club as an international club for connecting the european with the asian culture.

I tried to design the emblem for this club with the brush-tool in Macromedia Flash 8.

Together, we decided, that this one is the best draft (all other drafts were similar to this):
